in a collection of over 100,000 glass plate negatives

THE THOM HINDLE COLLECTION contains the negatives of 30 New England photographers from the early 1900s, mostly obtained from the families and include cameras, notebooks and photos of the photographers. Historic Photographers In addition are many historic negatives by unknown photographers and several prominent families that traveled with a folding KODAK camera, documenting their trips on large postcard size negatives.

The negative collection includes smaller 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 acetate size and glass up to 16x20. The majority are 5x7 to 8x10 while most of the subject material is New England and up-state New York, there are many of Yosemite, Grand Canyon, the Canadian Rockies, Washington DC, gold mining in Colorado, 1903 Mardi Gras, camping, hunting, victorian children, trains, ships, autos, and places that now are considered historic sites.
